About us

Our intentions were pretty simple. Today's NYC is filled with many high powered dining establishments that often forget what it means to be small. Our goal at Little Cupcake Bakeshop was to create a community gathering place that invoked the feel of Old New York. The Old New York that welcomed it's guest like a close family member. LCB was going to be the "corner neighborhood bakery" in a world where that was all too often only a distant memory. When designing the shop, our main task was to look thru this lens, we tried to envision what it would have felt like 70 years ago, from the 1940 storefront with gold leaf, classic neon sign, to the historical floral tin ceiling.
LCB's architectural design is inspired by a blend of French Country and Traditional American home-style living. Our mission was to create a new business model that worked for the people and the planet. Each LCB was hand built using salvaged materials and fixtures, FSC certified wood and denim jean insulation in the walls. The same is true for our product. With ingredients that are predominantly sourced from local farms, without the use of any preservatives, we're proud to highlight the fact that our dessert will only have a two day shelf life. Our cakes would resemble the ones Grandma had waiting for you on her kitchen counter. In a city like New York, it was important to us that our guests felt LCB could be their escape from the hustle and bustle.
